Ram Lalla Virajman, Lord Ram’s infant form and litigant in Ayodhya case, has been given ownership of disputed land. In Indian law, Hindu deities are treated as “juristic persons” who can own properties and have the right to sue or be sued. Ex-Allahabad HC judge DN Agarwal received permission in 1989 to become deity’s ‘friend’ and represent him in legal proceedings.
