Yes, April is here, and so is the garmi and all the fun of summer too (I mean mangoes by the dozen and vacations, you guys!) There is also so much I look forward to in these sizzling (literally, I tell ya guys, this year!!) months that I feel all pumped up awaiting the different activities and things I plan for this period. Catching up on great web series and films that are usually aired on different OTT platforms during this period is one of them.

Yes, the second week of April is almost over and has brought with it the promise of some of the most exciting films being released on various OTT platforms such as Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney Hotstar Plus, and Zee 5. So, what do you want to watch, guys? action, comedy, romance, thrillers, or drama? You name it, and you have it all.

The Marvellous Mrs. Maisel, season 5 – Amazon Prime Video

The final season of the highly acclaimed series has been created by Amy Sherman Palladino, in this one when Midge’s husband leaves her, she is a mother of two but nevertheless realises she has a talent for standup comedy. Can this be her true calling? As this journey takes her from her comfortable life through cafes and nightclubs,  she embarks on a path that could ultimately lead her to a spot she could have only dreamt of. Releasing on April 14th, 2023.

Seven Kings Must Die – Netflix

A follow-up to The Last Kingdom, this one follows the death of King Edward and their rival invaders and heirs, who are all battling for the subsequent crown. The story of Uthred and his comrades who are striving to form a united England Releasing on 14th April 2023.

Mrs Undercover – Zee 5

This one is a spy comedy starring Radhika Apte in the lead and Sumeet Vyas and Rajesh Sharma too in pivotal roles. The story of a housewife who is a special undercover agent and is called back on the job after a hiatus of 10 years is, well, interesting, isn’t it? Releasing on 14th April 2023.

 Rennervations – Disney Plus Hotstar

A 4-part docuseries featuring Jeremy Renner after his life-threatening snowplough accident, he and his teammates revamp decommissioned vehicles to benefit communities worldwide in this one, starting in Reno, Nevada, and taking on Rajasthan. Exciting, ain’t it? Released on April 12th 2023.

Florida Man – Netflix

A limited crime dramedy series created by Donald Todd, this one follows an ex-cop who returns to his home state of Florida to bring back a mobster’s runaway girlfriend. Releasing on April 14th 2023.

Pranaya Vilasam – Zee 5

A Malayalam romcom that was released in theatres in February, this one is helmed by Nikhil Muraly, and stars Arjun Ashokan, Mamitha Baiju, and Anaswara Rajan, among others. Releasing on April 14th 2023.

Citadel – Amazon Prime Video

A much-awaited US sci-fi thriller web series including Priyanka Chopra and Richard Madden in the lead roles, this one will be available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video in multiple Indian languages.

Shehzada – Netflix

Following its somewhat average box office performance, the movie starring Kartik Aryan and Kriti Sanon made its OTT debut on Netflix on April 1st 2023.

Indian Matchmaking S3 – Netflix

Smriti Mundhra, who is known for her work on The Romantics, returns with the third season of the documentary-style reality TV show, Indian Matchmaking. Sima Aunty, a prominent figure from the previous seasons, will continue to guide and advise the participants in their quest for love. The new season is set to premiere on Netflix on April 21st 2023.

Queenmaker – Netflix

And how can my list be complete without including a Korean drama? Fans of Korean drama are in for an exciting treat with the release of this new political thriller on Netflix on April 14, starring Kim Hee-ae and Moon So-ri in lead roles. This captivating series brings together two unlikely individuals- a skilled fixer and a human rights lawyer—after a tragic event. Together, they hatch a plan to win the upcoming mayoral elections, navigating through mystery, thrills, plot twists, and drama. releasing on April 14th, 2023.
