Ever wondered what stops you from getting what you want in life? Simple. Clarity of focus. The single most important thing one needs to succeed on all fronts-be it professional, work, relationship or otherwise. Presenting a self-help book which will help you gain that clarity and get the best possible results. Clarity: The unconventional guide to attaining Ultimate Success Quickly by Byomokesh Rajguru, a book review.

Clarity of mind means clarity of passion too; this is why a great and clear mind loves ardently and sees distinctly what it loves.

Blaise Pascal

Indeed, completely agree with these words and how!  Until and unless one is stark, crystal clear about whatever he sees or perceives in life, he/she cannot proceed to achieve anything let alone stay focused or even content. The clarity in one’s mind is especially important if you want to be successful in all stages of life. Be it a relationship, work, career or any other medium in life, a clarity of focus, on your goals is indispensable.

A book written by Byomokesh Rajguru I recently read had a brilliantly conceived and encapsulated practical approach towards not only defining but also scaling and achieving this profound clarity in all walks of life.  Yes, Clarity is what leads a person onto the right path, leading him on with the correct focus, making him steadfast on a clear perception, and eventually leading him to achieve what he aspires to, in life. It may be success related to work, career, profession or even personal being relationships or others.

I have read many self-help books, the majority of them concentrating on these concepts only. What felt unique and refreshing in this one was the writer Coach Byomokesh’s rational, practical and yet simple approach towards attaining this clarity and the means to do the same. Right from knowing oneself, Byomokesh stresses the importance of how when a person decides to identify his being, his purpose, his audience(aka whom he wants to serve), his offering(what can he impart to them as a takeaway) and the resultant benefits, he gets onto a more defined road in life, towards truly achieving the real pursuit of his inner calling. I liked the way he has given a detailed bit-by-bit breakdown of one’s vision into smaller goals, enamouring the fact that progress is no accident and the lack of clarity is the biggest obstacle in this breakdown. He even mentions the importance of journaling, which I surely believe is another important habit for achieving this clarity. I also second his thoughts of how journaling helps one to focus on their goals, explore emotions, self-reflection, resolve internal conflicts and reduce stress and anxiety at the same time. Helping one to track one’s progress and growth as well as overall personal development, he has also mentioned how one needs to move out of his/her comfort zone, challenging their Nevers. He has outlined how once a person decides to step out of their comfort zone they automatically can push away their fears, learn better and by default move to Growth.

I liked the manner in which he has allocated 60 minutes every day to self-care aka with oneself. Indeed,

10 minutes of journaling coupled with 20 minutes of pure sunshine, 20 minutes of exercise alongwith mindful eating aka no screens is the most ideal way to be giving yourself that daily respite aka the Me-time as we call it. Giving a list of 7 habits that make a person more organized he further highlights how the most basic exercise such as decluttering your wallet can give you that clear bit of thinking. Planning one’s day by making a daily planner and to-do list, organizing one’s workspace, following a routine as well as doing all those things which help you set a pattern and get into a routine, is the single most crucial habit one can get into to achieve the best results.

The OPROAR model laid down by him enumerates how one can build one’s own clarity by drawing a road map, setting the desired outcomes, defining the purpose as well as checking the reality of the same and designing one’s action plan by discovering as well as doing away with the obstacles. OPROAR roughly translates to

  • Outcome
  • Purpose
  • Reality
  • Obstacles
  • Action Plan
  • Roadmap.

So, my thoughts? Well, to sum it up a great book with a fabulous vision, guiding one through a rational as well as a hardcore practical approach to problem-solving as well as reaching one’s goals with stark clarity. A self-help book which lays down a relatable and resonating road map to achieve all that you want to, in a closer-to-life, non-superficial manner. A brilliant read. I’d also say go for further coaching from Byomokesh if you want to further enhance your work as well as existing life conditions. The links to contact him are available in the book itself.
