4.6

The Turning Points 1965 War by Sonnia Singh is an over-whelming account of the 1965 Indo-Pak war which focuses not just on military tactics, but the ideas, the motivation and of course, The Turning Points.⁣

The book is divided in several chapters, each one of them a short story told by a veteran soldier. There’s no main character in the book; everyone is a hero. Every account filled me with pride from within. How the Indian soldiers, despite having outdated weapons turned the tide of the war and showed the enemies their real weapon; their willpower to protect the nation. That despite the pressure and complexity of everything, when it was the matter of life and death, our soldiers stood bravely and took decisions rationally.⁣

For partition Enthusiast; 1947 Partition References

The book is written beautifully and I could see everything playing out in my head. The narration was spell-bounding. I love the fact that it is written very simply, and everyone can read it. It should also be noted that the author, Sonnia Singh is the daughter of an army personnel and I am so glad that she wrote this book. ⁣

The book should be read by everyone because it is important that we remember the sacrifices that were made by our soldiers. I again thank the author for writing this amazing book. It deserves nothing less than 5 stars and is highly recommended; so what are you waiting for? Go grab your copy and get reading!⁣
