READ: Favorite 5 Books of Sushant Singh Rajput
From Poetry to Fiction to Young adults, memoirs to romance, science fiction, fantasy, thrillers and even graphic novels, we have your reading list planned and sorted.
Call Us What We Carry by Amanda Gorman
It’s been more than a year since the inauguration, yet America’s youngest inaugural poet and her poetry collection are still as hyped as before. This remarkable collection of poems by Amanda promises an energizing and unforgettable voice in American poetry. Including ‘The hill we climb’, the famous piece she read on the 46th U.S President Joe Biden’s ceremony, this collection explores not only identity but also grief, hope as well as healing.
The Women I Love by Francesco Pacifico
A cool, fresh attempt diving headlong into gender, sex and power, this one not only acknowledges but also subverts the ways in which male writers perceive women- flitting constantly between archetype and actuality. Unpretentious, this one is written and put across with humility as well as frankness which is hard to miss.
Tell Me How To Be by Neel Patel
Possibly one of my biggest to watch out for on this list, a story of a mother-son duo each trying to figure out how to be in this world, this one sounds as vulnerable and authentic as entertaining and elegant.
The Death of My Father the Pope by Obed Silva
An absolute heart wrenching, dazzling, revelatory debut this one is the story of a man who is facing a paradox; to pay tribute, lay scorn upon, or pour a drink on his father’s funeral. A superb combination of a memoir as well as a powerful language.
The Ballerinas by Rachel Kapelke Dale
A captivating, voice-driven debut about a trio of ballerinas who meet as students at the Paris Opera Ballet School, this one explores the complexities of female friendship as well as the sublimated rage that so many women hold inside.
My Darling Husband by Kimberly Belle
Riveting suspense of surprising revelations, this one is full of riveting twists and a breakneck pace, a thriller encasing domestic suspense and dark secrets of the rich and obnoxious lifestyle of people.
The Love Con by Seressia Glass
A wholesome romantic comedy, promising to give me the warm, laugh out loud, tropetastic kinda feel to it, this promises to be one of those lit comfy reads this season.
Memory Lane by Sara Shepherd Ellen Goodlett
An experiment with memory implantation, this sci-fi thriller is the perfect choice for fans of inception and Blake’s Recursion.
Dancing with Daddy by Anitra Rowe Schulte & Ziyue Chen
This one is a heartwarming portrayal of a family embracing disability in the most affectionate manner. Superb filled digital illustrations by Chen emphasize the emotions of this beautiful children’s book even further.
A Killer by Design: Murderers, Mind hunters and My Quest to Decipher the Criminal Mind by Ann Burgess, Steven Constantine
A vivid, behind the scenes, look into the creation of the FBI’s Behavioral Science Unit and the evolution of criminal profiling, this one highlights how the FBI studies, profiles out and catches serial killers. Sounds to be an exciting read. Isn’t it?
So, how’s the list? Let me know in the comments which one of these you found to whet your reading appetite considerably.
