4.5

Jelly Beans in my Jar: A Vivid Poems Collection by Archi Patel is, as the name states, a colorful collection of poems. It is divided in four parts: Discovering Self, Nature, Humanity and You ‘n’ Me.

For Newbie poetry reader: Book review of A Lonely World by Himanshu Goel

I love reading poems, and it was refreshing to read this collection. And reading it, turned out to be a pleasant surprise. As it were simplistic in nature They were all varied; some rhyming, others not, on different topics, each of them bubbling to express itself. Yeah, according to me, once a poem has been written, it is an individual in itself. It gets an identity.

My favorite was the one called ‘Rejuvenation’. It went like:

“Standing under a tree
I noticed a number of leaves
Fallen on ground
Like our dreams
That falls down
And get crushed
Yet when I looked up
The tree stood tall
Bearing young leaves
It stood tall
Against the wind
It kept sheddingIt kept growing
It kept dreaming”

This one touched me. The poems were relatable, sad, happy and
motivational. Archi Patel wrote from her heart, and I loved the result!!

I highly recommend Jelly Beans in my Jar by Archi Patel to newbie poetry readers.
