Why read when you can watch a Korean drama?! 📺😍💕

Forget about picking up a book, my current addiction is all about immersing myself in the world of Kdramas. The stunning cinematography, the heart-wrenching storylines, and the undeniable chemistry between the characters... what’s not to love?!

I’ve never been one for passively reading a story, but watching a Korean drama feels like a journey that I’m a part of. The emotions of the characters become my own and I find myself rooting for them as if they were real people. Plus, who can resist the allure of a handsome male lead?! 😍

So, to all my book-loving friends, don’t judge me for putting down my novels and picking up my remote. Korean dramas have taken over my life, and I wouldn’t have it any other way! #Kdramas #NoMoreReading #imeunseob

I've always felt that Orhan Pamuk is a Nobel laure I've always felt that Orhan Pamuk is a Nobel laureate in the truest sense of the term. I am always captivated by the way he narrates his stories, splaying so many emotions and so much of life, even if it is dark and difficult.

Pamuk uses the narrative in his recent work "Nights of Plague," where the plague has swept through Mingheria, to assign importance to players from all social classes, religious leaders, politicians, and ordinary citizens. This is a cracking narrative, a true romanticising of a nation's history, captivating and enthralling the readers.

First and foremost, if you dislike reliving plague-induced quarantines and deaths, you should probably skip this one. Leaving aside that triviality, this one packs a brilliant flavour by fusing together Greek, Turkish, Muslim, Christian, and a slew of other cultures, as well as exploring how they diverged, adhered to, and diverged along the way.

A history supposedly written in 2017, just a few years before our own pandemic, there were definitely multiple allusions to our own history in the form of lockdowns, medical science, emergencies, refugees drowning at seas, and a slew of other drama. Despite being a lengthy read, this one is addictive and will quickly become unputdownable.

Pamuk uses an excerpt from War and Peace, which appears on the first page of the book, to describe how monumental events such as war or plague shape the lives of ordinary people. Attempting to draw a parallel between the plague and the Covid 19, it feels uncannily familiar as well as intriguing, to the point where you can't stop reading it once you start. From a political standpoint, this one contains references to recent Turkish history, a discussion of "religion versus science," and many other ideas. This is a fascinating blend of fiction and actual history.

As the moon shines and the day fades As the light As the moon shines and the day fades
As the light spills out from the half open window and wades..
The birds rejoice, heading back to their nests,
Life goes on, even the darkness setting in seems to have a fest!!

As the night prepares to settle,
All I see is you.

You know me and all my inhibitions..
And yet you embrace me, upon your luminiscence, my complete being glistens…

I attempted to convert a few pieces to black out poems myself, but had little success. Nonetheless, I must say that the effect is quite soothing.

Fighting the elements with thrillers, romance, and a variety of other genres has become a sort of autopilot mode for me during the winter.

Grief, I've learned, is really just love. It's all Grief, I've learned, is really just love. It's all the love you want to give but cannot.

All of that unspent love gathers up in the corners of your eyes, the lump in your throat, and in that hollow part of your chest. Grief is just love with no place to go.

Although, the weather is awful as you can see since it is foggy and rainy yet it has not dampened the spirits of the crowd.

The “Chaak” is the symbol of an auspicious start to a marriage.

Bhaat signifies the gifts and blessings gotten by Maternal side of relatives as well as marks the adornment of the Bride or Groom for their beautiful day.

JLF in glimpses... What a brilliant time that was JLF in glimpses...

What a brilliant time that was...
From meeting Javed Akhtar right at the start of my journey to listening to Gulzar Sahab LIVE giving renditions of his pearls, it was a completely fulfilling , contented kind of an experience.

Mind you, I had not dreamed in my wildest of meeting Gulzar ji and here I was, mesmerized , listening to his renditions.

Also, celebrated winners like Geetanjali Shree , Daisy Rockwell, Tripti Pandey and several others- well diving into their prerogative was another feeling altogether.

Yes, being on my own, exploring things from my individual perspective and most important that sense of freedom and “living through” on my own was that experience which would be with me for life.

Exploring the mindsets of celebrated Authors, listening to my favorites, catching up with friends, it was a myriad,a kaleidoscope satiating the best of my desires...

Review Two Minutes to An Eclipse and Other Moments Review Two Minutes to An Eclipse and Other Moments by Anshu Choudhary

You know, every once in a while, there will be that one instance, that one single moment in one's life, that defines and exposes everything. However, there are some that may completely redefine them. Anshu Choudhry's latest collection of short stories, "Two Minutes to an Eclipse and Other Moments," contains such moments, instances that are poised to shock, thrill, or change the way we perceive life.

These “capsules of life,” as I want to refer to them, are powerful enough to shake and jolt you out of your comfort zone, getting you out of that reverie you may have settled into. Written surely after having poignantly examined life at extremely close quarters, I was pleasantly surprised when I realized that all of these unique little “windows” to the daily ongoings of life had a plethora of thoughts to convey. All of these stories had a depth so profound that I was actually intimidated by the takeaways quite a few of them seemed to offer.

The innocence of youth, the harsh realities of the world, society and its stereotyping, and the entire way life proceeds and moves forward, like a giant bull elephant shaking all qualms like drops of water away from its mighty tusks, are the subjects of this abstract honouring and celebrating what might "shake off" of the elephant called life.

And did I mention how much I enjoyed the story of "The Red Stilettos"? Nina is a delightful character. A perfect example of the difficulties that a woman may face throughout her life. Is beauty, as society chooses to acknowledge, really all about the exterior self? Isn't there more to a relationship than being physically attractive and satisfying each other? Isn't marriage about maturing and growing old together? I was astounded to see Nina dragging herself like a rag doll along the path of the social bandwagon rather than following her inner calling.

Anshu deserves praise for portraying and reflecting so many quirks of the world and life, as well as challenging their logic in a completely neutral tone.

Isn’t it amazing getting married to someone just Isn’t it amazing getting married to someone just by looking at their picture?

The Picture Bride is a story of dreams, love, new life and struggle.

This is my first Korean fiction. I must tell you that it was an amazing experience reading about their culture. There is a lot of similarity amongst our cultures. Remember back in the older times, Picture Brides was a concept in our country too?

This is a book I would recommend to beginners since it is an easy and fast read and very interesting too.

You can find this and many more books for beginners and best sellers too at Amazon.in- a perfect place for readers to discover and buy their books at one place.

Mauka bhi tha aur dastoor bhi Aur teri khoobsurat Mauka bhi tha aur dastoor bhi
Aur teri khoobsurat aawaz...

Uff!!

Speechless today!!

One emotion-respect!!

Shat shat saashtaang...

There are personalities you follow, there are Greek gods, there are influencers and heroes. And yet, seldom comes someone for whom there is something beyond respect too- An emotional reverence, like devotion to the power of Infinity!

Yes, the god of Indian poetry, Gulzar Saab.

It was a surreal, out of the body kind of feel I experienced whilst listening to him. His rendition of that poem, the smooth flawless baritone, I mean I completely know this is a one in a lifetime kind of feeling guys!

I had a lump in my throat when I realized I was listening to the ghazal maestro of all time!!

The ambience, the beauty of the shamiana, the complete decor and even the weather for that matter was all in a mesmerized spell…

With the wizard himself!
